@davidsandilands It's been a whole YEAR since Debian 12 releaase, and still no puppetserver...

Why the delay ? I can understand a few months after the release, but right now, most of our clients are asking why their puppet servers (we manage several) are still under Debian 11 (EOL in 20 days BTW), while their security guidelines are asking for Debian 12 (and the PS is the last server in D11). Right now, our answer is "meeeh", because we have nothing else to answer. That does not look goo at all.

As we or them won't move to another OS, should we move to another automation tool ?

@asl i just wanted to follow up having spoken to puppet agent / server product side.

An effort has been made to catchup on agent support and improve the pipelines there to ensure we keep up in future and don’t slip back, our focus will then move to server.

So you can expect Alma 9 x86_64, Rocky 9 x86_64, RHEL 9 Power 9, Debian 11 arm and Windows 2016 FIPs soon. The server roadmap is being finalized but we are aware of the priority of Debian 12 and will get back ASAP.

I should have said those platforms listed were all for agent

@davidsandilands Thanks. Unfortunately, we have no concern with the agents, the ones included in the distros work just fine. The server is really what is bothering us the most...

We hope that this won't be as complicated for Debian 13 (which can be expected in about a year, around mid-2015. You've been warned ^W served ? :D )

@asl hello I know its been far too long but to update we have expanded training to one of our engineering teams for our packaging system and their first task is Debian 12 server, as it is their first job its considered a flex objective but I (with some legal voiceover very quickly saying this is not a commitment) would hope to see this in Q4

This training should also ensure in general we keep up to date in future and clear our backlog.
