I get the impression that whoever is writing the "Remote KVM" parts of modern IPMI does not have to suffer with what they have created
@benjojo @asl I think you can get OpenBMC on HPE machines provided you follow their "Transfer of ownership" procedure
The rl300 is supported for sure, other x86 platforms from g11 are supported as well iirc
